This past Sunday, I went with Tristan and his parents to a sunflower festival in Pennsylvania about an hour from Baltimore, MD. The farm is called Maple Lawn Farms and depending on the time of the year, you can pick your own cherries, blueberries, peaches, apples, and pumpkins. We were lucky enough to go on the last day of the Sunflower Festival they had, which was sold out!
Tickets are just $10 for children (3-10 yrs, 0-2 yrs are FREE) and $25 for adults (ages 11+) at the door (except I’m pretty sure you had to order online when we went). Each ticket includes admission, wagon ride to the fields, and a few sunflowers (plus an apple from their farm!).
Since it is still very much corona time, we wore masks anytime we were around staff and other festival-goers. There was a large tent in the middle with a live band and food trucks. We saw Indian Summer Jars play (they were really good!) and ate the best mash of southern favorites.
We went home with SO many flowers. They are absolutely gorgeous and even three days later as I write this, they look freshly picked. Sunflowers are so bright and cheery and exactly what I needed to brighten up my first real week of work. Plus they look awesome in the back of my virtual calls (which are quite literally and ALL day event).
