Engagement Photo Outfits Feat. Reformation

Happy Friday, friends! We scheduled our engagement photoshoot (for next week!) and now it’s time to pick out the outfits! Weather permitting, we’re planning on taking our photos outside in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The night we got engaged, Tristan had a photographer secretly take photos of us with Baltimore’s skyline as our backdrop. It’s exciting to now share this moment together close to where I grew up, with the mountains in the background. I think the blue and green landscape will compliment the ideas I have for our Save the Dates, and I love the idea of an outdoor shoot! The talented Melissa Brewer will take our photos, who we are also working with on our wedding day!

I had a general idea of what I wanted for our color scheme, so I ordered several dresses in natural fabrics (linen) with blue and green tones (earthy to match the mountains, I suppose). Although I shopped at a variety of stores, my favorite styles and fits came from Reformation! After panicking over the small fortune I shelled out on clothing, I was able to see how perfect the dresses were for the upcoming photos! Ideally, I’d like to have one outfit that’s white/mostly white to portray that “I’m a bride-to-be” look. For the second look, I’d love to do something blue (Tristan’s blue eyes really *pop* when he wears blue and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to wear my favorite color).

Look #1: White Dress

I loved this first white dress (Denver Linen Dress)! Gorgeous, stunning and the white look I was going for. Only problem I foresee- we’re driving an hour to the mountains and the dress easily wrinkles! Should I suck it up and change when I get there?? The second white dress (Dolci Linen Dress) is an amazing option, too! It includes center front hooks with eye-closures and a fully-lined bodice. Sadly, I think the size I ordered was too big and loose is the chest area (for me). The third dress (Maegan Dress) is different, but counts as “white” in my book. I love the bodice and hints of modern Marie Antonetta. Not going to lie, it’s kinda my vibe.

Look #2: Blue Dress

The two dresses with shoulder ties are the Nikita Dresses in colors: Mademoiselle (keeping) and Pompadour. The third option is the Sienna Dress with a square neckline, cap sleeves with elastic cuffs, and side slit. I love this option and ended up keeping the dress to wear to our engagement party last weekend! I’ll bring it along incase I change my mind! As you can tell, I love floral prints!

For sizing reference: I’m 5’10, and wear a 4-6

Let’s Get Some Shoes!

I haven’t decided on what shoes to wear yet, but I have these four nude/neutral shoes to select from. I couldn’t help myself and had to throw in the dreamy blue-heeled sandal (Loeffler Randall). Ideally, I want something that’s not too tall and just blends in.

I’m going (last minute) shopping this weekend, so we’ll see if anything catches my eye! Let me know where you’ve been looking for all things wedding (engagement photos, bachelorette trips, or engagement party)! Hopefully I’ll have photos to share with you soon!
