Although another Christmas has come and gone, the holiday spirit is still here! I wanted to share an easy DIY project you might want to try next year or adapt to fit your next birthday/holiday party!
What You’ll Need:
- Paper Mache Letters (here, here, here) – about $7.99 each
- Pom-Pom Balls (here, here, here, here) – about $2-16 per pack
- Glue-Gun with Glue Sticks (here, here)
- Command Strips to hang on wall (here)
I purchased my 12-inch letters from Hobby Lobby. They no longer sell the size I picked up, but they do have 8 1/4 or 16-inch sizes available. The letters are made out of paper mache and allow you to be as creative as you want! I’ve come across a few ideas on Pinterest that I’ll definitely need to try some day. How cute are these?
The next step is the fun part. Time to add pom-poms wherever your heart desires! I used felt pom-poms, which are more compact and rounded, but you can easily use any that you come across in the craft supply stores.
I played around with spacing between pom-poms, so when it was time to secure them in place, I was done hot-gluing in like 5 minutes. I collected the hot-glue strings that are impossible to avoid, flipped the letters over, and added command strips. Personally, I like the command strips that click together so I listed those in the material section above. These letters are very lightweight and don’t take much to hold them up.
Let me know if you try this DIY out- happy crafting!
