Today was our last day of the trip before we head back to the US tomorrow 🥺 (but we get to see Deacon 😊). We’ve had an unbelievable and wonderful start as husband and wife- we are truly blessed!
Instead of filling the day with bustling activities, we decided to finally RELAX on the beach (only took until the last day haha). We grabbed a few towels and made our way to the iconic Positano beach front, Spiaggia Grande, which is easily recognizable due to its colorful rows of umbrellas. We went to a part of this beach, managed by L’Incanto, which rented out sun beds, chairs and umbrellas. We paid 30€ each for second row chairs (35€ if you want the front!). Although it was mostly overcast, we had a great time just sitting out and reading. L’Incanto has a restaurant, which you can order from via a barcode at your umbrella. We got drinks (yes, I got a limoncello spritz) and caprese sandwiches for lunch.
Most of the beaches on the Amalfi Coast are rocky, which we knew but somehow didn’t prepare for. If we were to do it again, we would have brought cheap flip flops or boat shoes to walk from our chairs to the water (ouch!). I literally winced in pain watching people run on the rocks like it was no big deal (evident who were locals vs visitors).
It briefly started to sprinkle, which we waited out (first hint of rain the entire trip!). Since it didn’t appear to be getting any sunnier, we went back to the hotel to freshen up. Next on the list- shopping!
We popped into several stores and found a few pieces to take back home. Our favorite stores we came across were Blue Positano (Tristan grabbed a linen shirt here), Luisa Positano, Positano Couture, Ceramica Assunta Positano, and Temptation Positano.
We grabbed a drink at anther L’Incanto owned beach bar. The drinks were massive!
For dinner we ate Bar Ristorante Hotel Covo dei Saraceni, which was fantastic. Not only was the food and service great, so was the view! We even watched as the table next to us celebrated their daughter’s engagement (he had proposed that day)- cute!
I couldn’t have imagined a better trip! Thank you to our friends and family that have supported us through our relationship and celebrated with us at our wedding! We reflected on how fortunate and loved we are on our trip and can’t wait to start life together as the Meaghers!
Special thanks to our friend, Nancy Ebel, who helped us plan such a memorable experience! We couldn’t have done it without you!
